Ted Fong, Founder

Ted started Marketing Valet in 2003 as a creative agency serving technology companies in Silicon Valley. He was Product Marketing Manager at Cognex Corporation, Marketing Director at Interwoven Inc., and the Chief Operating Officer at River City Medical Group where he managed a network of more than 400 physicians in Sacramento County.

Marketing has always been Ted’s calling. At Interwoven Inc., he headed up a 20-person creative services team as the company went public and reached a market capitalization of $5B. Ted is not only a leader, he enjoys being a copywriter, creative director and project manager.

Ted was born and raised in Sacramento, received his BS in Bioengineering from UC Berkeley, and his MBA from UCLA. He’s an accomplished jazz pianist. He also leads a ukulele group (www.meetup.com/cccukulele)  and is an advisor to Street Medicine Sacramento (www.streetmedsac.org).

Marielle Valdez
Co-founder and Managing Director

Marielle Valdez-Fong, Marketing Valet’s Co-founder and Managing Director, has over 16 years of experience in business development, product management, marketing, and offshore operations in both B2B and B2C settings. She also founded Balikbayan Gear, a branded product development company in Manila whose product lines were carried by the top three major department stores in the country in more than 250 retail locations. Her work in Manila was recognized when she was named one of The Top Ten Entrepreneurs by Entrepreneur Magazine Philippines in 2008.

As Senior Product Manager for Informix Software in Menlo Park, she collaborated with customers and engineering to identify and prioritize customer requirements. Before that, Marielle was Product Marketing Manager for Sybase’s $100 million Data Warehousing business, where she was instrumental in launching Sybase IQ, the first column-based, extreme-scale, relational database system for data warehousing – which is still the leading product in its category.

Marielle has a BS in Commerce from De La Salle University and an MBA from the Graziadio School of Business at Pepperdine University in Los Angeles, CA. She is the founder and organizer of the CCC Hula Fellowship (www.meetup.com/ccchula) and creator and business manager of The College Fund Street Band (www.cfstreetband.com).

Kat Fonacier-Garcia
Sr. Project Manager

Kat was our first employee when Marketing Valet started in 2003. Over the years she has managed print, web and video projects for clients including Google, Adobe, Agilent, and Nokia among others.

Kat works with C-level executives and marketing directors to produce their enterprise marketing campaigns. “Some clients have been with me for five to ten years, even as they moved from company to company,” says Kat. “Good, honest service is the key to a lasting relationship. This includes being transparent with clients when there are bumps in the road. I’ve been successful because I set expectations and deliver on my promises.”

Kat has a degree in AB Communication, Minor in Japanese studies from Ateneo de Manila University. She is also a professional belly-dance teacher and a commercial model for television.

Claudyl Borejon
Production Manager

Claud is Marketing Valet’s production manager. She manages writers, designers, developers, and art directors. “A lot goes on behind the scenes to achieve the quality that our project managers and clients expect,” says Claud. “Our promise of providing ‘valet service’ keeps things fast-paced. It also focuses our creative team on the client as the most important person in the world.” Claud worked as a producer for a Los Angeles-based creative studio and worked with clients from Universal Studios, OpenRoad, Fox Entertainment and other Hollywood film production companies. She produced mobile websites and augmented reality applications to promote upcoming films. Claud graduated with a Bachelors in Law, as well as an AB major in Political Science from Aquinas University. She is a yoga practitioner and also an avid runner.
